Connecting Cultures

In the last week of August and the first week of September, Miks welzijn in Joure of the municipality Skarsterlan is organizing a youth exchange for young people aged between 15 and 20 years. The theme of this exchange is Cultural Diversity. The goal of the youth exchange is to come in contact with people from different countries and to learn from each other's differences and cultures through the use of various of sports activities. The exchange lasts for nine days and the cooperating countries are Romania, Germany and the Netherlands. A total of 24 young people and 6 youth workers are participating in the project Connecting Cultures. The activities are based on sports and the different cultures. During the exchange the participants have a change to discover the different methods in the field of culture. Particular attention is drawn to the analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the exchange. The program will be based in youth and young adults and their needs. Use is made of the creativity and knowledge of the participants.
