The Partner-Finding Tool
BEe-Woman is a KA2 project aims to encourage the women of rural areas with lower income and insufficient literacy in the field of BeeKeeping.
(BeE Woman)
Women, especially young women, make essential but underestimated contributions to rural economies in all developing countries. Their roles vary considerably between and within regions and are changing rapidly in many parts of the world, where economic and social forces are transforming the agricultural, beekeeping and poultry sector.
Women in rural area where traditional and conservative social profiles are highly preserved and dominant often manage complex households and pursue multiple livelihood strategies. Their activities typically include producing agricultural crops, beekeeping, caring animals, processing and preparing food, working for wages in agricultural and other rural enterprises, collecting fuel and water, engaging in trade and marketing, caring for family members and maintaining their homes. Many of these activities are not defined as “economically active involvement in rural development” in national accounts but they are essential to the well-being of rural households.
The aims of this project are threefold as follows: (i) determining the level of young women’s labour contribution to productivity in beekeeping in rural areas, (ii) determining the influence of young women’s labour input on production efficiency, as well as controlling women’s educational level as a technical plus and (İİİ) show how the women of rural areas involve in e-trading by promoting financial literacy in project areas.
