YOUTH SOCIETY OF KOKNESE

Kokneses Jauniešu biedrība (Youth Society of Koknese) is small youth nongovernmental organization founded in 2011. It has 20 members (before greatest part of members worked together as non-formal group for five years). The aim of the organization is to work on cultural, educational, sports issues, to diversify leisure activities for youngsters and to encourage peers and society of Koknese to participate in different cultural and educational events, meanwhile creating friendly environment for developing different kinds (environmental, educational, sports, cultural etc.) of projects.
In previous years group has had some projects on educating youngsters with disabilities and organizing sports activities for them. But as the biggest success youngsters mark festival of music and arts "INFINITUS". From a small musical event with ~150 attendants in 2008, festival has grown to more than 1`000 attendants in 2012.
