WTV - Der Offene Kanal aus Wettin e.V.

WTV - Der Offene Kanal Wettin e.V. has been providing citizens the know-how and the technical equipment for the production of videos since 1992. The productions are broadcasted via a terrestrial television signal in Wettin and via internet streaming (see: http://wettintv.de/media.html). For their production the "OK" offers the participants professional film equipment, several film editing suites and a live and animation studio.
In this way, film clips in high professional standard, partly in feature-length, and in different formats (report, documentary and animation films) are produced. The range of topics is very broad and depends primarily on the personal interest of the participants. In addition to immediate local and regional events, the contributors deal with socially relevant issues that are important irrespective of the locality such as palliative care, gender issues or gun rampage in schools.
In collaboration with media educators and social workers, the OK offers media projects for schools, facilities for disabled people and other non-profit organizations in the whole county.
The OK Wettin is a training company for media designers and employs volunteers from different governmental programmes.
The OK Wettin owes a bus with professional equipment for the live recording of events. This so called "DokuTV" – bus is on tour in the whole county and documents events of cultural, economic and social relevance. It is run by apprentices, trainees and other users of the OK Wettin. The produced reports are provided to all six community TV stations in Saxony- Anhalt and are available via the internet as well (www.wettintv.de/media).
