ViVe

ViVe is an Icelandic non-governmental, non-profit, volunteer organization. Our main goals are the promotion of cultural understanding and volunteering by enabling together people from all over the world to live, learn and experience while working and striving for a common goal or need that can be fulfilled in society by volunteers; mainly in our context, Icelandic society.

ViVe's main focus is on human and animal welfare in a broad and narrow sense. Within the domain of animal welfare we have worked with with the International Fund for Animal Welfare by raising awareness of the importance of whales within the ecosystem and in Iceland's waters. Both EVS volunteers and short term volunteers have collaborated with us for the past five years and all have received immense opportunities in experience, both in expanding their knowledge base, forging international relationships and fostering international friendships but also concrete experience and language skills, including expanding their social and environmental awareness in a global context. Future projects with ViVe be will be in collaboration The Environmental Agency of Iceland and capital area municipalities on additional environmental and social projects.
