Teatro Chapati - associazione di promozione sociale

Teatro Chapati is a cultural promotion association born in Bergamo, Italy, in 2018.
In this organization we try to combine two things we strongly believe in: theater and education. This because we trust in the power of art and expression to help people know each other and themselves, to manage social problems and difficulties. We try to use this power to promote awareness, self knowledge and social change, but always in a soft way, not forcing but playing, enjoying, discovering and sharing with others in a non judging environment.
During the years we did a lot of theater projects with adults, children, adolescents, people with special needs, in the schools, in the streets, in the parks and in the squares, in Bergamo and in the little villages around it, often in collaboration with other organizations. We do our best to give to the people a free and funny way to be serious, an occasion to express themselves and to think about what they feel and want.
Our activities comprend theater, storytelling, reading, writing, body awareness and improvisation, stilts and juggling.

We are really interested in youth exchange’s and partnerships since some of us participated in european projects: our role of educators, beside our theatre and artistic training, make us sure of the importance to build bridges through countries leading activities that can bring people closer to different cultures and experiences.

We are willing to know other organizations and to cooperate, in order to build a net, to share and learn practices and ideas. We wish to become stronger in our ideals and in our actions, clarifying what contribution we can give to social change and being able to think our activities inside an intercultural panorama.
