SUMA - Association for sustainable development

SUMA - Association for Sustainable Development is a non-governmental organisation based in Podravske Sesvete, Croatia and founded in 2020 by a group of young people.
Collaborations, capacity-building programs, and advocacy are the means by which they empower communities by promoting sustainable solutions and practices. They strive to have a meaningful impact locally, nationally, and internationally, with a team of experts who are passionate about making a difference.
The vision of the association is a sustainable future where communities thrive, the environment is preserved, and social and economic well-being are achieved through sustainable development. By believing in a more sustainable future we are working on personal development trainings, entrepreneurial competencies, volunteering programs, awareness programs, teaching various technical skills, communication skills, coaching, and rural development, the association is working towards discovering one’s own full capacities, which can later be transferred to everyday life. Additionally, emphasis is placed on realizing social and environmental responsibility and feeling the effects of one's actions on the group and society.
Rooted in the local community, SUMA actively engages with residents, stakeholders, and partners to drive sustainable development, inspiring others to join the journey towards a greener and more equitable future and always looking for new and innovative ways to make a difference. The organisation welcomes anyone who shares the vision to join and become part of the community.
The organization has been actively involved in implementing over two hundred activities on both the local and regional levels. Additionally, has managed seven projects in the field of youth on an international level, either directly or indirectly through the Association.
