Somali Diaspora Alliance

The aim of ‘organization is to bring youth from different fields, cultures and environment
together and to provide them with the space where they can develop new ideas, improve their
skills and gain new ones, share their views towards the world and to inspire them to become
leaders of today and tomorrow. We are developing social projects in a cooperation with
various (non) governmental
institutions and organizations, organizing conferences, seminars, training, intellectual and
cultural events.
We are upholding the platform where young people from Sweden and other countries share
ideas, exchange values and provide direct experience of the current situations in Sweden, in
Europe and the world and hereby strengthen youth cooperation.

Our organization had a project on the integration of immigrant children and youth within the
Swedish society. We have been organizing events where Swedish and immigrants were
painting images of their life experience and presenting to each other. Currently we are
developing multilateral cultural and media activities where all immigrant background
community organisations jointly organize and implement along with Swedish youth
organisations counterpart.
The aim is simply the promotion of cultural exchange and intellectual cooperation between
the people of Swedish and those of immigrant background where both immigrants and
Swedish will be able to freely exchange services and interact with each other in this way
fostering international cooperation within Sweden. From 2017 we are already assigned the
involvement of multiple projects in cooperation with other European organizations working
in the field of migration and preventing radicalization to terrorism and violent extremism in
Europe. We also conducted local projects funded by Swedish government and Borlänge
municipality.

The staff and members of the organization have rich experiences in the field of youth work
and in areas covered by this exchange program. All staff members are actively involved in
implementation local and international youth activities thus they have excellent knowledge
of the project cycle under Erasmus+ Programme as well as they have strong knowledge of
Erasmus+ Programme and its actions. As our organization is also implementing various
media related projects our staff members have also strong competencies in this area.
Our group leaders are all trained at a national and international level and will collaborate
with the coordinating Association during all the project stages in order to meet the project
objectives. The youth worker chosen for this exchange has specific skills in this field.
The persons involved in this application also have language skills, such as knowledge of
Swedish, English and various African languages and good competence in the organization
and coordination of major youth events.
