Social Policy and Action Organization Greece

Social Policy and Action Organization Greece represents an informal group, at the process of being registered as an independent NGO in Greece. The organization is directly connected, as a branch of the Social Policy and Action Organization established in Cyprus since 2014 and therefore it shares the same aims, objectives, as well as values and principles.

The main goal of the Organization is to work towards the enhancement of quality of life of citizens targeting mostly vulnerable groups, with extra emphasis on young people, covering all social policy related areas. The Organization actively supports and promotes the five principles of quality of life, thus being Human Well Being, Health, Financial Independence, Family Status, Socialization and Social Protection. The vision and aim of the Social Policy and Action Organisation are the following:

a) The improvement of quality of life on a social, political and economic level, through the prevention and fight against all sort of discrimination and racism, as well as the support and promotion of Human rights in Cyprus.
b) The implementation of research studies aiming at the identification and measurement of social problems and needs in order to proceed with innovative actions and methods to resolve them.
c) The design and promotion of proposals aiming at the development of specific social policies which would act as catalysts towards the resolvement of social problems.
d) The implementation of projects and actions aiming at the actual resolvement of social problems and the improvement of quality of life of citizens, especially those being threatened by social exclusion.
e) The development of a network with local and european organisations active in the social policy field, aiming at the exchange of innovative methods, information and actions which could be adopted in similar projects in Cyprus.
f) Raising awareness to the general public in regards to specific social problems which occur in Cyprus and methods of combating negative consequences to the society.
