Organization Earth

Our mission is the development of the concept of Environmental & Social Intelligence, by providing experiential, non-formal Education for Sustainable Development for all ages, introducing key sustainability issues into everyday life, primarily through learning activities.It’s mission is to promote behaviors and entrepreneurial models that have positive consequences for society, the environment and economic enterprise.

OE pursues this mission by designing and facilitating experiential, non-formal educational activities that empower and motivate individuals and businesses to develop new skills and change existing behaviors. The organization is divided into three initiatives—Earth Refugee, Center of the Earth, and Aephoria—each of which includes its own projects and dedicated staff.

Organization Earth also manages 3 initiatives:

1)Center of the Earth
We created the “Center of the Earth” on a 25.000 sq.m. Park, situated in a beautiful natural environment, just 6 km from downtown Athens. The "Center of the Earth" acts as a center of environmental education by welcoming school children, as well as adults, on a daily basis, in order to offer sustainable development training, primarily to the urban population of Athens. The Centre of the Earth is a “physical hub”, a meeting point for people of all ages who want to “re-define” urban lifestyles. Our aim is to expand our visitors' capacity so that in their everyday activities they can identify and adopt attitudes and practices that ameliorate the planet’s future, while contributing to collective prosperity and a better quality of life.

2)Earth Refugee
Earth Refugee (ER) is an OE initiative to transition refugees and asylum seekers in Greece from passive recipients of humanitarian aid to productive members of a sustainable society. ER pursues this goal by operating educational, recreational and personal and professional development services in its headquarters in Athens and in two refugee camps in the Attica Region. As of Fall 2016, Earth Refugee constituted formal operations at Skaramangas and Sounio, an operational headquarters in Athens, six full-time staff and a volunteer workforce of 20 individuals. The Earth Refugee team currently operates ten programs benefitting 500 refugees and asylum seekers per week.

3) Aephoria
It provides participating startups with education that will enable them to create scalable and replicable business models that have a positive impact on the environment and society. Foster an ever-growing network of sustainability-minded people and companies with deep connections into markets, technologies, and funding. Contribute passionately to the creation of thriving economic, employment, and social conditions in Greece.
