National Youth Action, Inc.

National Youth Action (NAYA) started in Liberia on April 29, 2008 as a Community Youth Advocacy Group in Monrovia; but after seeing the need to fully address those post-crisis problems affecting the youths on larger scale in Liberia; a decision was reach to go National. Hence, NAYA got incorporated and accredited as a National Non-Governmental Organization (MPEA/NGO/AC # 0539) in 2009.

As such NAYA targets vulnerable young persons aged 5 to 35 – to include the handicapped/disabled who we term to be the most vulnerable of the vulnerable; with special attention to young girls.

NAYA, Inc. vision is to create a youth-friendly post-crisis Liberia by providing those necessary programmes and activities needed to improve their growth and development.

NAYA mission is to address those post crisis issues i.e. HIV/AIDS; poverty; hunger; prostitution; out-of-school; human rights abuse; unemployment; discrimination; teenage pregnancy; etc. affecting Liberian youth; especially young girls through a participatory approach which we strongly believe can serve as an enhancement of young people's sense of ownership as it relates to contributing towards their own growth and development.
