Murcia City Council - Youth Service

Who are we?

We are Youth European Programmes and Youth Exchanges, from the Youth Service of Murcia City Council. This Youth Service has more than 26 employees working for the young people in the Municipality of Murcia.

From a public-body point of view, this organization has been actively participating in volunteering and also promoting social development for young with fewer opportunities since 1996.

What kind of projects do we elaborate?

The main purpose of our projects is to work with youngster to boost and promote their inclusion and participation in society.

For us, EVS is essential because through EVS projects we can promote and spread values related to European citizenship, as well as we try to motivate the Youth from Municipality of Murcia. Encouraging them to be more intercultural, by getting to know other countries and sharing experiences with people from other places.

Nowadays, we are a sending, hosting and coordinating organization, sending more than 40 people and hosting more than 10 people per year.

These voluntary services have treated different topics, but always with the same objective: promoting the mobility of all the people with fewer opportunities, different backgrounds, with physical and visual disabilities, the unemployed...

Why should you consider counting on us?

We rely on our multidisciplinary team members, with more than 20 years of experience behind them in European projects, Youth and Development cooperation, who work together to raise the purpose of its activities.
This team have also participated in specific trainings regarding people with visual disabilities thanks to ONCE (National Organization of Spanish Blind People).

We offer different services to our Youth, like Youth Exchanges, Training Courses, mobility in employment, Language Clubs, both
Junior (12-16) and Senior (17-30), which promote languages by using non-formal methods. We manage workshops about different topics (EVS, European Mobility Projects, Languages, CV and Motivational letter, etc.) in high schools, Cultural Centers and events about volunteering, in order to spread the information, the values and, to give new opportunities to those who need it.
