Arbetsmarknadsförvaltningen AMF (The Labor Market Committee LMC) addresses the areas labour market issues, social security benefits and assistance and adult education. We are about 400 employees and AMF is one of nine administrations in Helsingborg. Within the organisation we have a wide range of professions such as social workers, student counsellors, coaches, budget advisors, teachers and others that can give you support in social issues.We work with many different target groups; unemployed youths and adults, people who want to study, newly arrived to Sweden, sfi (swedish for immigrants) and people with financial issues. Our organisation is the entrance to social support in Helsingborg.Many of the youngsters we work with are NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training). In this group we find youngsters that have droped out of school, that have chosed the wrong high school-program and are waiting a year to start in a new program, that do not have the grades to start high school and that do not have the grades to get a high school degree. Many of the the young people also have fewer opportunities, for example social and economical obstacles and educational difficulties.We are always trying to find new ways of working with young people. We aim to facilitate admission to education and employment. The short term aim is to increase the number of young people who finish gymnasium (high school). The long term aim is to decrease unemployment. We offer personal coaching, support and motivation acitivities and try to visualize opportunities. Resources in our organisation is, among others, social service, trainee programs, support if you have special needs, study, motivational coaching, CV-writing, job interview training, health acitivities and vocational guidance. All employees are, together with the client, working towards the aim to get them self-supported.
