MJC Bertrand LE CHEVREL

The Youth and Culture Centre (MJC) BERTRAND LE CHEVREL is an association affiliated to the League of Education of Calvados and was founded in 1901. It organizes recreational activities of a socio-cultural and socio-educational nature and sports events. It runs recreation centers without accommodation for children and youth from 3 to 18 years. Furthermore it manages a public digital space and Watersports Centre MPT at a closed water near Vire. All activities are implemented in order to promote the values of public education.
The structure is located in a rural commune in Bocage Virois. The city has an important historical and artistic heritage and a dynamic economic development.
Cultural life is very developed, Vire has a national stage and a cinema-theater-in-residence for the reception of theatre companies and the implementation of a cultural season and a municipal music school. It annually hosts a popular summer theater festival of street arts recognized in the region.
The MJC is actively involved in community education projects which it is a key player and is focusing its activities with the municipal structures and associations to maximize the impact with audiences mainly children and young people.
