International Active Cities Association

TThe International Active Cities Association is a non-profit, non-governmental organization operating for purposes such as sports activities and youth work. With the activities we carry out in the national and international fields, we contribute to the promotion of sports everywhere and ensure the popularization of sports for everyone, and to raise healthy active individuals in life. Our association aims to create a system that will guide societies by realizing the goal of "Health and Quality Life", which is among the Active City Management System and the United Nations Sustainable Development goals.
Our International Active Cities Association acts as a roof for individuals who work/on projects to make cities more active, cleaner, more useful, healthier, and more social. In the projects we carry out and will carry out, we act by the principles of equality, respect for human rights, democratic principles, and active participation in line with EU values.

The projects we carry out in line with these goals are as follows:

1. Active City Active Citizen:
Our project titled “ACTIVE CITY ACTIVE CITIZEN” within the scope of KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals received grant support from the Turkish National Agency in 2020. Our project activities have been carried out that have active potential and address the solution of increasing sports activities by helping cities find ways to promote exercise and wellness.

2) Competency Development through Sports and Nature-Based Activities
The erasmus+ program KA1 was awarded a grant by the Turkish National Agency within the scope of Individuals' Learning Mobility. With this project, we aim to increase the knowledge of young people about the concepts of outdoor and sports-based education, to provide them with the opportunity to directly experience various sports and outdoor activities, and to support their development.

3) A Youthful Look at Active City Policies
This project within the scope of KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals was awarded a grant by the Turkish National Agency in 2022. With our project, we aim to develop an Active City Action Plan for the implementation of the Urban Active Environment focused on increasing the physical activity levels of the society and implementing the policy/implementation in a determined district.

4) No-Neet
KA2 Our project titled KA210 NO-NEET within the scope of Cooperation between Institutions and Organizations was awarded a grant by the Turkish National Agency in 2022.

5)Let's Talk About Online Campaıgnıng
Our project titled “LET'S TALK ABOUT ONLINE CAMPAINIGNING” within the scope of KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals received grant support from the Turkish National Agency. Project activities will be implemented in 2023.

Our organization received a trademark registration from the Turkish Patent Institute to make "Active City" a brand name. With this mission, our association has brought together all the stakeholders that will make a city active and established a national physical activity network under the mentorship of a Physical Activity Standard and Guide prepared by our association, and to expand this network at the international level. Our association holds consultation meetings with Anatolian provinces, especially with the district municipalities of Sultangazi, Beykoz, Çekmeköy, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, and Kütahya.
