During the first lockdown in march 2020, many young people were forced to stay home and those who were schooling, schools were closed hence no studies were conducted. This created a lot of idle time among the young people which later in turn increased a lot of bad
vices among the same. Many of the young people lost hope, sense of belonging and got accustomed to drug abuse, sexual immoralities among others. This increased a lot of teenage pregnancies, the number of inmates in Ugandan prisons increased, unsafe abortions, deaths due to unsafe abortions, high mortality rate because most of the teenage mothers were not ripe to bear the consequences of pregnancy among others
