Human Rights Research Center

Despite significant progress, Georgia still has serious problems in terms of human rights protection. According to the latest reports of Public Defender of Georgia, these issues are still problematic. At the same time, public awareness about human rights issues is still low at the national level. To respond to this problem (and not only that) in 2015, we - two brothers decided to form an initiative group. In February 2018 initiative group became the legal entity. As its mission, our organization is oriented on giving youth practical experience and knowledge along with theoretical one, to facilitate in turning those young people into active and successful members of society, through non-formal education.

Our aims are:

• Researching human rights issues;
• Raising awareness of human rights;
• Studying propaganda, disinformation and fake news.

Networking is the key to success in our work. Thus, we are trying to build one. We are the members of the National Council of Youth Organizations of Georgia (NCYOG), Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, and YouthProAktiv. And we already have many success stories from this collaboration.

Georgia has always been multinational and multicultural. Here are many different ethnicities. Mostly large groups live in the countryside. And in some regions, there are so many of them that it is even difficult to call them minorities in this particular locality. In our country, everything is accumulated in big cities. Few organizations want to work in rural areas. Young people who live in rural areas have less opportunity to participate in youth educational projects. These young people are much more vulnerable, and they most need our help. Their involvement is crucial, due to the lack of integration, we even have the threat of radicalization among them. That is why the main idea of the organization is to encourage the participation of these youngsters. We hope that participation in our projects will be productive for them. These additional competencies that they will gain from us, they will use to accomplish our organization's goals in their local communities.

There is a great interest from the youth towards our organization and they are heavily involved in the activities of the organization through the way of voluntary participation.

With our existing and future partners, we can make a difference in the lives of young members of our society.
