Governorate of Bilecik Bureau of European Union and Foreign Affairs

The Governorate of Bilecik, being the most senior public body in the province, is in chage of the political administration of seven other boroughs as the local unit of central administration of the Republic of Turkey. The Province of Bilecik is located in western Turkey with a population of 218,297 in total. 77,976 of the population live in the central borough where the Governorate is situated.

The Governorate conducts national and international projects through the Bureau of European Union and Foreign Affairs. The Bureau aims at using EU grant funds more effectively not only by producing projects based on cooperation with private sector, public organizations and NGOs, but also by providing technical assistance and conducting trainings in this regard. By taking part in EU projects, the Bureau intends to improve the life standarts of people in Bilecik and to help them to adapt to the Union’s acquis. Furthermore, estabalishing sustaiable partnerships between the private sector, public bodies and NGOs in Bilecik and in EU member countries is also among the objectives of the Bureau.
