Geração de Amanhã- GDA (The Generation of Tomorrow - Association) was founded in 2011 in Terceira Island (Azores), functioning in the first instance in the social sphere. Currently, it assumes a nature linked to the world of culture and arts with the aim of strengthening the critical mass, communicate and raise awareness through the arts and combat insularity.

To achieve what is proposed, GDA is in charge of

- Establish partnerships, networks and dialogue between creative entities;
- Promote transversality between the different creative sectors;
- Promote and support studies and research, raise funds and resources for projects related to art and culture in general;
- To inform (and involve) the community in general, with the assembly and support of workshops, residencies, exhibitions and/or shows and other events related to the various creative and cultural areas;
- Promote training in the various creative areas provided for in the association;
- Involve young people through projects with high schools;
- Promote and ensure the visibility of the creative industries sector in the city, the region, the country and the world;
- Develop all activities that can contribute to the pursuit of the Association's purpose.

> Main projects

RE_ACT CONTEMPORARY ART LABORATORY
Artistic residency program, which works throughout the Azores Archipelago, based on Terceira Island, where it has a final presentation at the Angra do Heroísmo Museum (MAH). The residency explores notions of ecology, myth and technology on this unique location in the North mid-Atlantic ocean. Taking the form of a laboratory accompanied by artistic processes and curatorial experimentation the artists and curators will be invited to begin or develop ideas presenting afterwards the results of this process in an institutional context.

RE.FUNCTION
In recent years, GDA has gathered efforts to create work spaces for the general artistic community in the “Re.function” place, which is implemented in an 18th century farm with about 7000 square meters of area. Currently, GDA has a Serigraph and Art studio.

100 YEARS BAUHAUS CELEBRATION
Activity plan, workshops, lectures on the Bauhaus theme held at the middle and high School Tomás de Borba.

COLLECTIVE - VISUAL ART EXHIBITION
“Collective” is an Art exhibition with the aim of bringing together a large group of artists, inviting them to exhibit side by side in a symbiosis of languages, thus forming a large collective.

Exhibition of students from the Art group of Escola Vitorino Nemésio.

“I MINGUS, RAFEIRO AND EVERYTHING”
Literary interpretation of the autobiography of the composer and musician Charles Mingus, by the writer Ana Paula Inácio and musical interpretation by Combo Livre.

ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS
Workshop techniques reusing materials for Christmas decoration.

WORK IN PROGRESS
Series of improvisations with poets, visual artists, actors, musicians.
