Diabetes and prediabetes

The objectives of the “Diabetes, Prediabetes and Metabolic syndrome” Association are:
• To arrange screenings for diabetes, prediabetes and metabolic syndrome.
• To prevent people that are in high risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome and to improve their knowledge on modern methods of treatment and prevention.
• To protect the rights of people to have equal access to prevention and treatment.
Activities of the promoter:
The team of “Diabetes, Prediabetes and Metabolic syndrome” arranged series of events, screenings, prevention and information campaigns recently:
• the promotion of active and responsible citizenship among 185 young people, joint action with the "Grove" Foundation, chaired by Magdalena Maleeva, in Sofia;
• screening of 189 people and information campaign “Mission health”, in Sofia;
• campaign "Health Alley" among 2,000 people about the dangers of the metabolic syndrome and the obese, joint action with Ministry of Health in Sofia;
• health information campaign, including 450 young people, 3 events and screenings of 320 people, joint actions with National Patients' Organization, in Sofia;
• screening "Check your glycated hemoglobin", joint action with the Society of endocrinologists in Bulgaria among 113 people in Plovdiv,
• screening of 165 people and information campaign "Early diagnosis of diabetes", joint action with Institute of Metabolic Syndrome, in Albena, Stara Zagora, Hisar;
• screening and campaign "Changing Diabetes", training patients and people at risk in diabetes in Sofia and Plovdiv;
• screening and training of 408 women about healthy lifestyle, joint action with the Association "Women" and Club "50 +";
• screening of 113 women, joint action with the Association "Generations";
screening of 287 young people, joint action with Society of Cardiology.
