Association of Gipsy Minority of Spokespeople and Representatives of Nógrád County, Hungary

• The Association of Roma Minority Representatives and Spokespeople of Nógrád County was formed in 1996. It functions as a public benefit organization in Nógrád County. Its seat is Bátonyterenye. The organization’s main objective is to educate socially handicapped children and young people beside school education and to help them spending their free time. Our other objective is to support families in a complex wax in order to decrease child poverty. In addition, we deal with legal aid, voluntary work, and from time to time employment programs for the socially most vulnerable groups. Represent an aid the groups with lowest ability to advocate and the communities which unorganized and lack ability of advocacy
North of Hungary, Nógrad County, Bátonyterenye Region

The organization started its “Estate program” in the case of 16 families (complex rehabilitative program fo families living in poor estate residential areas) in which 6 volunteers are still working. The date was 2011.
The organization has started the “Firing from Rubbish” project where we can help to produce a part of winter firing and we share it among the most indigent families. It lasts between March and October.
In the frames of the Estate-Aspect Supporting Program for Excluded Communities we co-operate with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and the Tutor Foundation where we have been performing social work in two “new” segregated areas in the periphery of Bátonyterenye.
Our emphasized objective is to involve disadvantaged women in the life of the organization
With the help of an EU competition we taught women making home textile and practical objects by pearl-weaving, crafts and wickerwork in special courses. After the termination of the competition we have installed a little “tailoring workshop” where we created the “Happiness” doll family that was adjudicated. Presently we are waiting for being able to employ the women and after the firs collection they would start to manufacture the dolls. All are of natural materials and totally man-made.
We perform legal aid activities – we operate as a TASZ place (Hungarian Civil Liberties Union). We had done it with an advocatory contact every afternoon for 7 days a week and we ensured every legal aid from advice to legal protection for those who come to us with their complaints. We perform these tasks by volunteers. At present we have done it twice a week permanently since 2010.
We operate as a voluntary place in theTanoda institutions of the settlements of Bátonyterenye sub-region. Our aim is to develop voluntary work, not only in the mentioned four settlements but also in the whole area of the sub-region.
We continuously take on involving voluntary employment of those who are not the public work program so as not to lose their entitlement to Employment-substitutional Support.. This program of ours will last until November, after that we would continue it as a voluntary work. We have done it since 2000 and also at present we can recive volunteers workers.
The organization ensures the possibility of spending penalty-public-benefit work for the sentenced ones.We perform this task as a voluntary work. We keep contact with the ones who served their imprisonment, help to deal with their paperwork, and attempt to take in their employment.
We have connected to the prisons and we have cooperative agreement since 2012.
With the support of the Swiss Civilian Contribution Fund we have been working with a newly founded organization since 25 March in order to become sronger and make them be able to participate in favour of the local communities. This project did at June 2014 (producing firing of agricultural rubbish, training farm-masters, public college training courses in Bátonyterenye and Kálló).

At present we have done an estate program in Mátraverebély, Nógrád County since 2013. We can not work only with the primary target group. The whole community of the settlement is involved by the project in order to ensure the whole community and development of the community.
