Associação Cultural e Desportiva do Ladoeiro

The Ladoeiro Cultural and Sports Association, based in Ladoeiro, is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and participate in cultural, recreational and sports activities in order to occupy free time of all age groups, but mainly of Youth, together with the dignity and development of the Ladoeiro parish. It currently has more than three hundred members. The date of its foundation goes back to October 22, 1976, and can be considered as the fruit of the revolutionary era that occurred in Portugal after the 25th of April in the year 1974. Like all local and rural communities, enormous problems to survive. Moreover, its continuity is the result of the stubbornness of its members, it has maintained a state of avant-garde position both in the social field and in the sport field. The Parish Council of Ladoeiro and the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova have been fundamental for the development of this Collectivity. The Municipality through protocol has made available support for the development of sports and cultural activities and transportation for our athletes on the move, both in the District and National level. Until 1993, the sports activity developed, was notable in the popular component, participating in and regularly promoting both the Football and Athletics component. At Football level, it always played a crucial role in the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, with dozens of victories in the non-federated component.
It always encouraged exchanges with other cultures, namely with our Spanish neighbors.
In athletics was celebrated our team led by a great athlete named João Leal, who both individually and collectively achieved great victories for our national colors. Also to note the participation of this Collectivity, in the famous national tests, designated by D.N.Jovem.

In the field of federated sport, we joined the Football Association of Castelo Branco and started the activity in the 1992/93 season, in the Futsal component (ex: Football of Five), achieving good results and dynamising the associativism. In addition to the participation in the championships in several categories, the ACDL has also organized, with great success, the Futsal Summer Tournament of Ladoeiro, having been held the 23ª edition in July of the year 2018. Still at the federated level were carried out in the 1998/1999 season between the ACDL and the Association of Handball from Castelo Branco, which culminated in the enrollment of thirty-five young people in the categories of Bambis and Schools with the purpose of fomenting the modality in the parish, to point out that for this movement contributed much the protocol signed between that Association and the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
At the recreational level has the ACDL, organized various hobbies and shows, such as: Tests of bicycle expertise open to all age groups; Cultural nights, bringing to Ladoeiro, some of the most prestigious musical associations of our District, namely the Orquestra Típica Albicastrense, on the twentieth anniversary of the Collectivity. In addition to the recreational level, we have been working together with the Ladoeiro Theater Group, now part of the Cultural Section of our Club, in the last half-dozen years, the Carnival Corso, which is already well known in the District attracting audiences from other parishes. Cultural Section makes a point of maintaining and giving continuity. The diversions, in particular, the election of the King and Queen of Carnival, the contest of the best disguise of the carnival time and the best allegorical car of the Corso, are part of the history. This group, with regular activities during the year, has performed several theater and musical-theater shows in the District, of which we highlight those performed in Retaxo, Alcafozes, Oledo Idanha-a-Nova, Zebreira, Fundão and Alcains. It also organizes "games" for children and young people, included in the World Children's Day.
It also collaborates with the Primary School and with the Catechesis of Ladoeiro parish and moves the great majority of young people of the most diverse social classes.
The Ladoeiro Cultural and Sports Association (ACDL) inaugurated in 2014, its new headquarters and was a day to remember and one of the most important dates in our entire history.
