Asociación JOVESOLIDES

Jovesolides is a non governmental organisation located in Paterna, a municipality in the valencian region in Spain.
It was created in 1999 in the priority area of La Coma, in Paterna, but its origins go back to 1995. That
year, ‘La Coma’ Colegio Mayor was established. At that time, the educational body’s young students were
providing support to the neighbourhood’s residents and associations, and they organised and formed the
association. Objective: to provide continuity for the various solidarity initiatives that have been developed.
The essence of such a unique context, full of intercultural richness and social commitment, and led by youth, has guided each step taken by the organisation
MISSION We work for equal opportunities in development, and we promote an active global
citizenship that is committed to its environment

VISION To set a benchmark in promoting social engagement through innovative initiatives,
involving people and groups in various social challenges

VALUES We promote human rights, respect to diversity and pluralism, within the framework of a
Social and Democratic State of Law.
The main strategic pillars of the organisation are based on:
• E-inclusion, to approach vulnerable communities to the use of ICTs
• Education for development and volunteering, in order to promote a more open, tolerant and coherent mentality in our society,
• International Cooperation for development, in order to empower, specially youth, in their future role in society,
• Social entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, to identify new ways how to face social challenges in current days.
Jovesolides has a large number of partners that are spread throughout the world, mostly in Latin America
and Europe. This partnership model makes it possible to carry out our projects: cooperation, development
education, innovation and social entrepreneurship. Additionally, it allows for synergy between all of the
entities and organisations; provides an enriching exchange of best practices; and, facilitates continuous
and constant learning.
