Amici del Villaggio

Amici del Villaggio has been working since 2006 (from 2008 on an international level) to promote young people's participation in social life and to implement the CRC Convention on the Rights of the Child and the principles of the Declaration of Rights Human UDHR-ECHR. We focus on improving the quality of life in our community with actions designated to protect of the rights of minors, young people and for those in conditions of social exclusion.
The main activities involve children and young persons aged 8 to 25 in voluntary projects willing to make them active protagonists in their environment, to improve the intergenerational relationship, to promote the concept of solidarity as a tool for social well-being within the community. The specific objectives of the projects are: develop and improve skills, support those with fewer opportunities, overcoming obstacles to individual growth. Particular attention is paid to the area of disability and the elimination of gender, ethnic and cultural stereotypes. Educational methods within a non-formal and informal context are preferred.
We coordinate the local Youth Council with various activities and experiences of participation and active citizenship in different Municipalities of the local district and schools in the Veneto region. So far we implemented 32 Erasmus+, Youth in Action projects and Training of youth workers. From 2011 to 2014 we took an active part in three editions of the project "Partecipare, Infinito Presente" of the regional and national PIDIDA. In 2017 we gave our contribution to the survey of the Council of Europe on behalf of the CIDU with the adoption of the C-PAT "Child Participation Assessment Tool". We are a member of the table of Associations and Organizations set up by the AGIA National Guarantor. In 2018 we created the "Regional Council for boys and girls", a group representing youth from 8 to14 years old from the Veneto region at institutional level. From 2019 till now we perform "Giovani particip @ ttivi" involving a group formed by young people from 8 to 18 years old. Since 2019 we have been included in the "CRC group" www.gruppocrc.net, for monitoring the application of the CRC in Italy.
In the last 15 years we have been carrying out:
> Scholastic support for children with various type of challenges and help for foreign families
with the commitment of young people as tutors;
> Educational activity in schools of the Veneto region to promote, equal opportunities, legality, environmental protection, ICT, STEM and STEAM technologies;
> Paths of active citizenship and democratic representation with various youth groups with age from 8 to 14 years old coming from 19 municipalities with a group of representatives from Unicef -Veneto, distributed in the 7 provinces of the region;
> Promotion of the Erasmus Plus and European Solidarity Corps programs with the Eurodesk in Bassano del Grappa;
> Organization of local meetings, conferences, publications and advocacy activities in favor of the rights of young people and minors.
