Founded in 2003, Alternativa Ambiental is a non-profit association. Our mission is to support women’s equality and contribute to environment activism and to swing the spotlight back onto global environmental issues.
For this, we focus mainly in the field of Education and training for Young people, VET and Adult Education and cooperation between entities throughout Europe to promote European values.
We contribute to improving the quality of Education and the training of associated entities through the development of European projects that facilitate innovation and the exchange of good practices.
We also support and organize training programs, conferences, mobilities, cooperating and collaborating with national and international organizations.
Our projects and training courses based in non formal education meet the quality criteria and the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, such as the development of basic and transversal skills, entrepreneurship, digital skills, new teaching methodologies, integration and interculturalism, among others.
Alternativa Ambiental is a flexible structure which is built around a network of volunteers and professionals (youths and adults) engaged in the same process and objectives.
Alternativa Ambiental encourage networking with other organizations, in order to strengthen joint efforts through mutual support and creation of opportunities for collective work.
We offer several programmes in the field of education, training and youth sectors supported by Erasmus Plus.
The priorities that our NGO addresses are:
- the contribution towards environmental goals through social entrepreneurship supporting persons and organizations that further environmental efforts toward conservation of natural resources
-the promotion of ecofeminism , addressing possibilities for changing the hegemonic patriarchal paradigm and domination and exploitation models.
- the development of ETC competences for Youth Workers and Youth Trainers
- the development of basic social skills such as interculturality and integration, intergenerational cooperation, inclusion, gender equality
- the contribution to innovative aproches in skilling of adults and young people;
-sustainable strageties for social entrepreneurship in rural and depopulated areas;
- support networking of local and European organizations. Strengthen joint efforts through mutual support and creation of opportunities for collective work.
-facilitate joint work of our organizations for international cooperation for development processing, to defend human rights and promote social justice and responsible global citizenship.
-improve ecosystem for social development for creating a supportive community space for entrepreneurial women and environmental support.
