Youth, culture and insertion

Other

17-18 November 2011 | Brussels, Belgium - FR

This meeting and opportunity for exchange will be centred on : * An Artistic and Cultural Projects village linked to the theme "Youth, culture & insertion" * Plenary Sessions * Three Simultaneous Workshops
In a context of growing unemployment for young people in Europe, Banlieues d’Europe is tackling this major challenge to contemporary society by giving priority to education in its cultural aspect and a specific training in artistic practices. With a wealth of 20 years experience, and sensitivity to the difficulties of the age group in question, we are at first setting up a network of initiatives and demarches carried out in the European framework. Faced with the difficulties that give rise to demonstrations in many European countries (The "Indignants" in Spain for example), our demarche is a stake on the enormous potential of creativity of young people and the different forms of accompaniment and training that develop from new creative initiatives of unemployment. Thanks to specific identification work on innovative practices in cultural fields carried out with young people at European level, Banlieues d’Europe wishes to demonstrate the capacity of the cultural sector to develop new practices destined to facilitate the professional insertion of young people in difficulty. This meeting will be an occasion to welcome a hundred project carriers, bring together actors in civil society, researchers, the media and public policy officials. This meeting and opportunity for exchange will be centred on : * An Artistic and Cultural Projects village linked to the theme of the meeting * Plenary Sessions * Three Simultaneous Workshops : - Professional Training in Artistic Professions - Culture and Social Insertion - Artistic Experiences with Young People This meeting will provide an occasion to welcome a hundred project carriers bringing together actors in civil society, researchers, the media and public policy officials.
