You go Youth Goals!

Training Course

9-12 June 2020 | Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg

The Youth Goals were defined by young people and policy makers and should now be put into action at the local level. This event aims on promoting the goals and help youth workers understand what they are and how they can be used to motivate youngsters.

The youth goals were defined by young people and policy makers during the last cycle of the Structured Dialogue (now known as the Youth Dialogue). The Youth Goals should now be put into concrete action at the local level. The training event You go Youth Goals aims to promote the goals and help youth workers to better understand what they are and how they can be used to motivate young people to get active. It is also a great opportunity to use the European Solidarity Corps to get young people to become more active and work towards these goals. Therefore, this training will also focus on the exchange of good practices and learn how to best use the Solidarity Corps to do so.

The training will mainly be focused on understanding what the Youth Goals are and how to use them to inspire projects and motivate young people to get active. For this we will be alternating between knowledge building and knowledge sharing modules, as well as practical exercises that aim on better understanding how to develop projects around this topic.

In order to assure the quality of the training event, we intend on collaborating with youth researchers from the University of Luxembourg, as well as the Luxembourgish Youth Delegates for the Youth Dialogue (formerly known as the Structured Dialogue).

Additional Program elements

  • Free walking tour

For participants arriving on Friday morning or early afternoon, we will be offered a free 90 min walking tour to discover the city.

  • Welcome Dinner and Networking event

The first evening, participants will have the opportunity to mingle and network around a walking dinner in Esch-sur-Alzette.

  • Welcome and intro event

The formal programme of the training event will start with a welcoming event, where participants will be offered an introduction to the event by the host organisation and followed by a presentation and discussion by a guest speaker. We are intending on partnering up with several other local organisations working on this topic to also offer participants a better understanding of the origin and purpose of the youth goals.

  • Winery tour and Schengen visit

The second evening will be dedicated to visit a winery in Schengen, followed by a wine tasting event and a dinner. Schengen is mostly known for donating its name to the Schengen Agreement, an European Agreement that introduced the free mobility in the European Union.

  • Dinner in the city and cultural event

The last evening will be dedicated to a cultural event with dinner in Luxembourg city.

The training is subject to the definitive approval by the European Commission.
