Training Course

3-11 November 2015 | Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The training will take place in Cluj-Napoca and Baisoara (Vest Carpathians), Romania, between November 3rd and 11th, with 24 youth workers, educators and volunteers, willing to explore the positive aspects of working with visually impaired youngsters.
Value the Difference is a multi-activity project, involving a training course, in Romania, in November 2015 and a youth exchange, in Poland in January 2016. The training course will involve 24 youth workers, educators and volunteers, from Romania, Poland, Belgium, Italy and Greece, willing to explore the positive aspects of working with visually impaired youngsters, using non-formal methods of education. The main goal of the training is to familiarize the participants with sport and outdoor activities, suitable for visually impaired, developing inclusion and acceptance among the beneficiaries. At least one of the participants from each country will be visually impaired. Ten of the participants to the training course will also participate to the youth exchange as leaders and accompanying persons for the visually impaired participants. We would like to engage youth workers that intend to deliver activities with young people with disabilities, particularly visual impairment. The profile of the participant: • Youth worker, teacher, educator, leader, volunteer; • Engagement in the work in the field of young people; • Motivation to involve in the work with the visually impaired youth; • Ready to be one of the leaders in the second activity – youth exchange • Capabilities to multiply and disseminate the project's results; • Committed to attend for the full duration of the course; • Be aged 21+; • English language skills. We have currently 19 available positions for this event. Second activity is an 8 days long youth exchange for 40 participants (35 young people aged 18-26 and 5 leaders) taking place January 16-24. During this activity we invite the youth workers that took part in TC in Romania to put in practice new skills and evaluate methods learned. The leaders of the YE have already been chosen, however we invite youth workers/leaders that will attend the TC to participate in the YE in January if they are under 26 y.o.

Costs

Travel costs will be reimbursed up to 275 EUR for participants from Poland, Belgium, Greece and Italy. For participants from Romania there are no reimbursement. The accommodation and food is covered. We do not plan any participation fee.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
