Tool Fair Poland aims at creating space for discussion and exchange of practices for youth workers and is thought to be a springboard to the international edition of Tool Fair which this year will be held in November in Portugal.

IMPORTANT: DUE TO THE OUTBREAK OF THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19), THE DATE OF THE EVENT WAS POSTPONED BY ONE MONTH UNTIL 25-26 JUNE. WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON ANY FURTHER CHANGES SHOULD THEY BE NECESSARY. 

 

Tool Fair is an international event that brings together youth work experts all over Europe and beyond to discuss and learn from each other about innovative methods and best practices from the field of youth work. Tool Fair Poland 2 is a national event that aims at creating space for discussion and exchange of practices for youth workers and is thought to be a springboard to the international edition of Tool Fair which this year will be held in November in Portugal.

This Seminar is for 60 participants

from Erasmus+ Programme countries (Poland, France, Belgium, Lithuania) and Partner Countries (Russian Federation, Eastern Partnership region: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Southern Mediterranean region (Algeria, Egypt, Israel,  Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia).

The Polish Tool Fair will take place in Warsaw on 21-22 May 2020 and will provide a stimulating environment for varied approaches and practices for youth workers.

The programme of the Polish Tool Fair will include:

  • a TF Talk, an inspirational and challenging talk, serving as a food for thought and setting the theme of the event,
  • three workshop sessions, offering various tools and best practices in youth work. Workshops will be run by participants.
  • Tools Market, a late afternoon event during which the participants will be able to present their tools and get to know others’ ideas for youth work.
  • special workshops for participants conducted by external trainers

Objectives

The Tool Fair will support youth workers in:

  • sharing about, learning and reflecting on how to apply competences and education of youth workers on different levels and in different contexts to one’s own reality,
  • sharing knowledge, being challenged, getting inspired and critically reflecting on youth policy, research and studies of youth work and society,
  • exploring, learning from and supporting further development of practice and methods of working with young people,
  • engaging, connecting and experiencing youth work in context, while linking practice to local reality.

Participant profile

The working languages of the event will be Polish and English. Since parts of the event may be in Polish interpreted into English, unless the participants speak Polish, they should communicate freely in English. Also, all participants who are potentially interested in running workshops need to be fluent in English, as the national Polish Tool Fair is thought to be a springboard to the international edition of the event where youth workers from all Programme and Partner countries present their know-how.

Applications are open for participants who have an interest in the development of competences, approaches, pedagogies and practices fostering quality of youth work and competences of youth workers, who are willing to share and present a tool for learning which is related to the theme, and who are working directly with young people or youth workers.

Selection criteria

  • Fluency in English (those who wish to run workshops need also be able to present freely in English)
  • Willingness to run a Tools Workshop and/or sharing a Tool for learning
  • Having plans how to use what they learned in everyday work
  • Having the potential to develop competencies in relation to the objectives of the activity

Arrival: evening 20.05.2020
Working days: 21.05.2020 (full day), 22.05.2020 (until lunch)
Departure: early afternoon on 22.05.2020

Participants selected to participate in the event who do not live in Warsaw will be offered accommodation (subject to availability).

Costs of food and accommodation will be covered by Polish National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO (EECA or EUROMED) in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
