The Power of Non Formal Education in French language

Training Course

4-9 May 2018 | Durbuy, Belgium - FR

Improving the impact of Non Formal Education (NFE), principles and methods in empowering young people as real actors of the society (from local to Europe) and building bridges between different educational methods, approaches or reflections. In French !
WHY THIS TRAINING COURSE? Improving the impact of Non Formal Education (NFE), principles and methods in the empowerment of young people as real actors of the society (from local to Europe). MORE CONCRETELY To stimulate the participants to feel and reflect about the power on NFE by experimenting different kind of non-formal educational methods. To approach the role and perception of the NFE in our different countries within a common Europe. To fight against the growing consuming approaches towards young people in the non-formal education field. To explore meanings, roles and complementarity of different educational approaches and methods (formal, non-formal, informal). To reconsider daily youth work practices. To understand how NFE can be powerful to develop initiatives, entrepreneurship and employability of young people. MAIN CARACTERISTICS A TRAINING PROCESS MUCH LONGER THAN THE TRAINING COURSE ITSELF 1/ PRE-IMMERSION PHASE (6 WEEKS BEFORE THE TC): Participants receive weekly (electronic) Newsletters in order to start the training process before the residential training course:  Introduce some key elements and concepts (formal, non-formal, informal...)  Make participants reflect about their daily practices.  Discover through short presentations the team members and participants. Creation of a Facebook group as additional tool 2/ THE TRAINING COURSE (4 DAYS AND HALF): In order to make this report easy to read, we'll not put here the daily programme with all activities, because it exists already in the NA's and participant packs (information that sending and hosting NA and also participants receive before the TC). Find below the main steps of the training process during those almost 5 days:  Setting a common ground on NFE (terminology, vision).  Feeling the Power of NFE methods as a person (doing activities like the fun of learning something: One step Forward, Plan B, Power to the People).  Understanding precisely how you as youth worker work with NFE methods (through analysing NFE methods).  Approaching E+: Youth in Action Programme as a tool box to express the power of NFE (+ good practices examples).  Making our work in NFE sector more powerful? What's next? (mainly full last day). Transversal element: (from first to last day)  Being aware of the learning potential of NFE projects (taking this TC as an example): The learning process of participants: from their learning’s objectives, to a daily self-evaluation of their learning’s outcomes. 3/ THE CONSOLIDATION PHASE (8 WEEKS):  At the end of the training course, participants write an action plan to see concretely how they plan to transfer their learning’s in their daily practices. This action plan is sent by the host NA to the sending NA's, in order to bridge participants with their NA.  Trainers’ team is fully available for participants for mentoring, individual support and consultation of participants, mainly in the implementation of their action plan. The training period and the consolidation phase also serves as period of implementation of the Youthpass process. Text in French in the attached document.
