PBA Make it rural

Partnership-building Activity

6-11 March 2023 | Grazalema, Spain

This PBA wants to help in the challenge of creating new projects in rural areas (populations of less than 20,000 inhabitants), projects rooted in the places.

International youth activities change the lives of young people. They are a powerful tool for empowerment and growth as active citizens in their own community.

These benefits are much greater if the projects are done in rural areas and thinking of their development rooted in the place. But this involves a number of challenges for which we must be prepared.

This is the reason for this activity, in support of workers and volunteers who work directly with the young population of rural areas and who, with varying degrees of experience, want to organize a European youth project within the framework of the Erasmus + program and /or European Solidarity Corps in rural areas and need to meet reliable and suitable partners.

Objectives:

  • To provide a wide introduction to the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corp programs in the part of youth, focusing on their capacity of development in rural areas.
  • To give the opportunity to find good and reliable partners from rural areas with whom to develop projects within the E+ and ESC programs, creating a solid network of contacts and alliances.
  • To understand the impact and social change that an E+ or ESC project can have within a small local community, discovering the possibilities of local participation.
  • To share what it takes to plan a good quality E+ or ESC project in rural areas.
  • To offer an individual and group learning experience through a practical process, allowing participants to reflect on their learning process and learn more about Youthpass.

The project is a learning-by-doing experience, built on experiences and real cases which are interspersed with workshops, info sessions, ongoing evaluation…

Participants will be 26 youth workers or youth leaders who work directly with youth from rural areas of 14 partners from 13 countries: Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, Georgia, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey and Spain.
