The training course will provide participants with the competencies to initiate and maintain a youth center, and share practices on how the Erasmus+ program can support the quality of daily youth work activities.

This project aims to bring together 45 youth workers, youth work policy-makers, youth leaders from the project countries: Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, North Macedonia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Romania, and Bulgaria. Participants from other countries are also eligible to join.

Aim of the training course: Provide participants with the know-how on how to initiate and maintain a youth center, which is running daily youth work activities, and how Erasmus+ program funding can help to assure a better quality of daily youth work activities.

Objectives of the training course:
1) Analise different forms of youth work: open youth work, digital youth work, street / detached youth work, mobile youth work and learn youth work principles, for participants to understand with youth work forms suits their context the best.
2) Learn the main principles of youth-friendly space design (architecture and interior design);
3) See the Lithuanian success stories: take part in online study visits to see how youth centers in Lithuania are established and managed.
4) Learn about different funding schemes of youth centers: privately funded, municipally funded, public-private partnerships, project/program funding.
5) Find out how to use the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus + program in the daily activities of a youth center.

Dates: from 29th of March till 9th of April, 2021. There will be a 3-day Easter break from 3rd to 5th April.

Each day we will be connecting from 10.00 CET till 15.00 CET (3,5 - 4 hours of work) there will be additional individual and group tasks for homework (analyzing movies and others).

Online platforms that will be used: Zoom, Sli.do, Facebook, Kahoot.it, Miro and other

Content:
We will run a 9-day online training course on the Zoom platform based on non-formal education methodologies. The main elements of the training course program are:
• Building the learning group and learning atmosphere, Youthpass;
• Knowing the context or partner organisations, the context of youth work and understanding the users (young people from sociological perspective);
• Principles and forms of youth work, analysing the need of youth work in my community;
• How to establish a youth center and cost-benefit analysis;
• Online study visits to youth centers and Department of youth affairs;
• Architecture, design principles - how to create youth-friendly public places;
• Developing infrastructure projects and advocacy of youth work;
• European solidarity corps and Mobility projects - how to use it in daily youth work;
• Dissemination of results and evaluation, Youth pass.

Participants should be able to attend 80% of the course, also an opportunity will be created to see the video recordings of inputs and group presentations.
