Conference – Symposium - Forum
6-7 July 2022 | Zoom, Portugal
With this conference, we would like to launch the international exchange of experiences and perspectives on the quality of local youth councils at a broad, international and intercontinental level. It brings together various stakeholders in the youth field, such as non-governmental organisations, municipality representatives, researchers, youth workers and youth leaders, to discuss the importance of youth participation at the local level across the participating countries and continents. The participants of the conference will have the opportunity to discuss and share ideas, experiences and best practices for involving young people in decision-making processes, thus giving them a voice and active role in their local communities.
The conference is also a launching moment for the LOCAL YOUTH COUNCILS AT INTERNATIONAL SCALE - a 2-years project financed by the European Union, with plenty of exciting experiences, training and outcomes yet to come.
The conference takes place on the 6th and 7th July, 10:30-14:00 CEST ONLINE. Participation in both days is not required,

We cordially invite all participants interested in exchanging experiences about the topic of local
youth council at international, intercontinental level, especially:
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
Starting from the idea that young people are the driving force of society, able to influence decision-making processes and shape the future of their reality from the local to the global level, this project aims to foster the potential of young people to be active citizens and actors of fundamental social change in their local communities.
The project focuses on the quality of youth work at the international level in terms of analysing and increasing the capacities and possibilities of youth workers from civil society organisations and municipalities to engage young people in decision-making processes at the local level through local youth councils and equipping young people with the skills and competencies for quality participation.
The project has been launched in May 2022 and connects experiences of the countries from the Mediterranean region, namely Italy, North Macedonia, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal and Tunisia. It is financed from the Capacity-Building in the Field of Youth Erasmus+ Programme.

Youth on board is a youth-driven non-profit organization based in the University town of Shtip, North Macedonia, striving to promote youth development and empowerment through philanthropy. Run by youths, for youths, we plan and execute events to show the impact one can make in the community while encouraging the act of giving back.
DYPALL Network (Developing Youth Participation at Local Level) is a European platform of over 80 civil society organisations and local authorities from more than 30 countries, that aims to involve young people in decision-making processes at local level, and thus enable municipal and regional authorities to address the needs and interests of youth, engage young people as active actors of problem-solving and increase the level of ownership, commitment and involvement of an important part of our communities.
