Euro-Mediterranean Youth work preventing polarisation

Training Course

5-11 November 2021 | Tarragona, Spain

A training course to develop youth work competences and initiatives for the prevention of extreme polarisation through human rights and democratic citizenship education methodologies.

The training course "Youth work preventing polarisation: Euro-Mediterranean youth work for intercultural democratic citizenship" focuses on developing youth work competences to analyse causes, consequences and dynamics of polarisation and develops youth workers’ skills to prepare, execute and evaluate initiatives for the prevention of extreme polarisation through human rights and democratic citizenship education methodologies.

The Training Course will support youth workers and educators to:

● Develop competences to prevent polarisation based on the principles of intercultural democratic citizenship and human rights education;
● Analyse the role of youth work addressing the causes, consequences and dynamics of polarisation and exchanging practices and methodologies on how to prevent it;
● Prepare initiatives contributing to prevent polarisation in the local communities and develop cooperation strategies in the Euro-Mediterranean area.

Along the course, polarisation prevention methodologies and practices will be shared, including dialogue circles, living libraries, spaces for citizen cohesion and appreciative dialogues.
