Training course on rural development and cultural protection through youth projects by non – formal education
Themes of the training course: To motivate young people from rural areas to explore the values of their communities and based on these heritages and traditions to build up their future and to develop their life conditions. To support rural youth to feel being European meanwhile to find their roots and preserve it to Europe. To make a link between past and future and raise awareness of being responsible for our history and culture. Based on cultural protection to develop rural life through local and international youth projects. The overall aim of the training course is to train youth workers, youth leaders who directly working with rural youth (living in villages, settlements, islands, etc.) on supporting active participation of young people in the life of local community. To motivate and involve them to explore the values, traditions and heritage of their communities and based on these cultural aspects to give answers for the needs of the local communities. To support development of local communities through local and international youth projects as Key Action 1 with contains youth exchanges, EVS and youth worker mobility, both for Programme Countries and Neighbouring Countries according to the new programme Erasmus Plus. Learning objectives of the training course are: - To be able to ensure ways of active participation of young people in the local communities; - To raise awareness of cultural protection in rural areas, to be capable to explore traditions, values, heritage in rural areas and to find the ways to rethink them and rebuild into the nowadays life; - To foster understanding of needs of local communities concerning rural development; - To get acquainted with project management of Key Action 1 with contains youth exchanges, EVS and youth worker mobility, both for Programme Countries and Neighbouring Countries according to the new programme Erasmus Plus as a tool for rural development; - To find partners for future projects according to the proposals of Erasmus Plus programme. The methodology of the training course: The training course will be based on non – formal education and it will consists of non – formal, formal and informal learning aspects. It will be learner centred. Experienced trainers’ team will provide active and participatory methods. Participants will be responsible for own learning process. Nevertheless, several creative methods will be provided for them in order to assess their learning process and learning outcomes. Participants have to be prepared before coming to this training. They will make a research in their local communities to explore and collect cultural heritage e.g. folk songs, recipes, dance, handicraft, clothes, etc. they think it is important and useful for their communities. During the training course, they will present them, to share it with others and collectively create a strategic plan how these traditions can be useful in rural development. During the training course participants will get familiar with project management of Key Action 1 of Erasmus Plus programme and prepare projects based on their cultural heritage in order to develop their local communities through these projects. The training course will has theoretical and practical parts. Theoretical parts: - Project management of Erasmus Plus Programme; - Different ways of active participation of young people in local communities; - Participation according to the European Commission as proposals in the European Youth Strategy “Investing and Empowering young people” and in the Programme Guide of Erasmus Plus programme; - How to make a research in local communities. Practical parts: - To make a small research in their local communities before the training course concerning cultural heritage; - To make a research in the venue of the training course in order to explore cultural heritage there; - To create an exhibition from the brought cultural heritage and the newly explored ones for the local inhabitants of the training venue; - To prepare Key Action 1 with contains youth exchanges, EVS and youth worker mobility, both for Programme Countries and Neighbouring Countries according to the new programme Erasmus Plus for rural development. Who can participate in the training course? - Youth workers, youth leaders who are directly working with young people from geographically disadvantages areas e.g. villages, settlements, farms, islands, etc. - Youth workers, youth leaders who are willing to cooperate in international youth projects after the training course; - Ready to take part in the whole training course; - Have organizational support for further activities; - To be able to communicate English language. Costs

The food and accommodation will be provided and paid by the organizers. 70% of travels costs will be reimbursed either by bank transfer after the course or at the end of the course in cash (in Euros €). It may be that money from European Commission will be late; in that case, as mentioned, you will get your reimbursement after the course by bank transfer (be ready for that). There is 20 EUR participation fee!

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
