Chasing the Rainbow
Study Visit

Chasing the Rainbow is a set of three study visits that will take place in Latvia, Ireland and Finland. The overall aim is to encourage more LGBTIQ young people from the participating countries to start international projects on human rights.
The three visits are organised between June 2015 and spring 2016.
Latvia 16-21 June 2015
Ireland October-November 2015
Finland February-March 2016
The three activities form a project that aims to involve more LGBTIQ young people in exploring human rights through Erasmus+: Youth in Action projects.
The objectives are:
- explore the diversity of LGBTIQ communities in participating countries
- exploring opportunities for human rights activism
- transferring learned competences into work on local level
- forming partnerships between participants
- understanding the possibilities of Erasmus+: Youth in Action projects
- learn project management skills
- developing projects under E+ YiA
The visit in Latvia aims to explore the topic of human rights, help to find participants' own passion in the field of human rights, and empower and inspire participants for future activities.
The visit in Ireland aims to learn good practices in international projects, explore possibilities for partnerships and create ideas for future projects. The visit continues exploring the work in human rights.
The visit in Finland aims to get feedback on project plans, build capacities in completing applications and running projects. Exploration of human rights work continues.
Between the visits the participants will explore their national and local realities and share what they have learned on local level.
Participants
- young leaders aged 18-25 because this project is more focused on peer to peer approach for youth leaders; as an outcome, youth exchange projects should be developed by young leaders.
- involved on some level in local LGBTIQ activities
- curious about international cooperation
- interested in human rights
- willing to participate in the whole duration of the project, including all 3 visits
- if needed, two participants can come from the same organisation
6 participants from each country will be selected. They can involve other young people in their home towns to overall project planning, activities, etc.
The working language is English. All groups will have a group leader that can support participants in communication in foreign languages.
The organiser is ready support special needs, such as personal assisting, accessible rooms and transport, etc.

Costs
This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country.
For participants from Latvia small contribution of 28, 46 euro for full project.
For participants from Ireland and Finland- you are welcome to contact your National Agency for more information.
