Changemaker Course aims at people who want to change the world. In the training participants develop changemaking skills identified after over 300 interviews with activists from the world over and plan social projects that really impact their communities

The Changemaker Course is based on the direct experience of the trainers, active in social field for years, as well as the results of over 300 interviews with Changemakers from all over the world carried out in the last 3 years.

 

PROJECT GOALS:

- Developing social skills which were acknowledged as fundamental in changing the world: communication, empathy, team work, leadership, mindfulness, listening, vision-making, understanding change-process dynamics, inclusiveness;

- Disseminating tools for effectively planning social projects and social businesses responding to the real needs of a given community;

- Planning specific social projects that can be carried out within short time after the end of the training;

- Providing materials (descriptions of exercises and scenarios) and enabling people working with youth to empower their target group with ideas and actions for positive impact.

- Motivating to action, showing through examples of real changemakers from around the world that change is possible.

- Networking changemakers, people who implement social projects or run social businesses.

 

PROGRAM

During the 7-day Changemaker Course participants will:

- Discuss the main problems of the world, getting basic knowledge from Global Education

- Sharpen their Changemaking Skills (empathy, communication, awareness, teamwork, building a vision, creativity)

- Meet local changemakers, getting to know their challenges and daily work

- Plan their own social project

- Learn how to speak about their idea in public

- Get to know how to seek resources for implementing social projects

- Meet a group of like-minded, engaged people who really care

We use active methods based on experience. We also include elements of coaching.

 

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

Active youth workers (working with or for youth), who:

- have motivation to develop social initiatives for young people and youth workers and implement them locally after the training,

- are open and willing to actively participate and contribute to the programme,

- are available and motivated to attend the full duration of the international training (7 working days + 2 days of travel). 

 

ACCOMMODATION:

The training takes place at Żywa Ziemia (Living Earth), located in Zakrzewo, close to Gdańsk, Poland. Żywa Ziemia is a natural farm promoting healthy living, permaculture and sustainability (https://www.facebook.com/ZywaZiemia/).  They provide shared rooms, multiple training spaces (including beautiful outdoor spaces, presence of animals and other living beings as well as solitude and natural surrounding reducing “city” distractions) and vegetarian/vegan food, partly produced in their farm.

Costs

Participation fee

There is no participation fee.

Accommodation and food

Accommodation and meals included in the programme are 100% covered.

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs are 100% covered up to the Erasmus+ distance calculator corresponding amounts, using the cheapest and most convenient transportation methods.

The maximum amounts for involved countries are:

Latvia, Romania, Spain, The Republic of North Macedonia, Turkey  - 275 EUR

Portugal - 360 EUR

There is no travel budget for Poland.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
