Celebrating Human Difference
Training Course
14-19 October 2017 | Fahren, Germany
A 6-day training course for Youth Leaders, Youth Workers and Project Managers in Experiential Education. The main aim of the project is to broaden access to Experiential education for participants with disabilities and special needs.
The training will have a special focus on tailoring outdoor and experiential education to the needs of participants who are differently-abled.
We will offer a range of workshops introducing the methods of experiential education, and provide instructions on themes such as needs analyses, risk assessment, and group dynamics.
Workshops will draw on a range of non-formal learning methods, including question and answer sessions, practical demonstrations, front-loading, debriefing, small-group work and active feedback. In addition to introducing the theory of outdoor pedagogy and the experiential learning cycle, the training will impart practical skills, such as designing activities, basic rope-work elements, and conducting evaluation and reflection sessions.
We will also develop workshop scenarios to implement as pilot initiatives following the TC.
