Main theme of the training course is the facilitation of body positivity activities and creating a facilitation approach that is inclusive and body positive. The training course has following objectives:

- To equip youth workers with the tools and competences for facilitating body positivity sessions with groups of young people;

- To discuss how triggers in education process are created and how can we respond them in a constructive way.

Basing on principles of non-formal education, using a mix of pair and group work, discussions, case studies, body and movement based exercises, outdoor activities, work with stories and images, trainers will provide a learning process that meets different learning preferences and engages multiple senses.

The program of the training course includes six main themes that are tackled thorough the course. Participants will explore topics such as theory and practice of body positivity, creating safe and brave space for young people, facing and addressing triggers, facilitating body based activities to vulnerable groups of young people, analyzing existing non-formal educational activities through body positivity and experimenting with body positivity and non-formal education - developing and testing new methods and tools.

Among the learning outcomes for the participants is an increased awareness of their own facilitation style, approach, and potential, understanding the fundamentals of body positivity and trauma sensitive learning environments and facilitation. Participants will also increase their understanding of the links between body and identity, develop and gain tools for improving young people’s body image and supporting them in creative and efficient use of their body.

We hope that with this project we will initiate also a bigger discussion about body positivity in youth work and education - a change in current educational practices and improvements in the work with young people that in longer term might lead to reduction of serious social and health issues.
