Be Sustainable – Make A Difference!

Training Course

15-24 March 2024 | Busteni, Romania

Training for developing practical GreenComp with a focus on global interdependencies, sustainable development, mainstreaming sustainability and responsible consumption in the day-to-day lives of young people and youth organizations.

This training is based on the strong beliefs that:

  • European citizens need to have active knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals, sustainability and development issues and to play an active, responsible role in the world, considering the impact of their behaviours;
  • All citizens need competencies to understand, participate in and critically interact with our global society. Global Education is education that opens people’s eyes to the realities of the world and awakens them to bring about a world of greater justice, equity and human rights for all.
  • Besides individual actions and changes, we also need to act responsibly and have sustainable practices at the institutional level – starting with our organizations!
  • There is a need for strengthening and contributing to a more competent youth sector, especially youth organizations, to foster GreenCompetencies among their young beneficiaries through practical, tested and relevant educational materials.

     The main goal of the training is to increase the capacity of the European youth work sector to support the implementation of Agenda 2030 with a focus on sustainability in all its dimensions.

     More specific objectives of the training are:

  • To develop practical GreenComp* among 25 Youth Workers with a focus on global interdependencies, sustainable development, mainstreaming sustainability and responsible consumption.

*GreenComp: the European sustainability competence framework

  • To motivate, prepare and accompany diverse youth organizations to become Sustainable organizations in their practices and to mainstream sustainability values in their projects.
  • To encourage the European civil society at large to become more sustainable through a collection of innovative, creative, simple and motivating examples of sustainability and global citizenship practices in the youth work field.

The training concept proposed is based on the results obtained from previous trainings and projects and was modified and upgraded in time to have a higher impact and long-term learning outcomes. The training will be focused on developing specific multiplying competencies and it will make use of the richness of experiential learning and non-formal education in general (it will have a strong practical approach)

The learning process will be guided and facilitated by an experienced A.R.T. Fusion team:

  • Andreea-Loredana Tudorache (http://trainers.salto-youth.net/AndreeaLoredanaTudorache , Author of several manuals for youth workers on Global Citizenship Education (can be found here: https://en.artfusion.ro/resources/)
  • Victoria Carasava (Project Coordinator and Sustainability Officer at A.R.T. Fusion Association)
