Training Course

29 November - 3 December 2021 | Gothenburg, Sweden

The activity aims at Improving the impact of Non Formal Education (NFE), principles and methods as well as to promote cross-sectoral cooperation in education by bridging different approaches and methods between formal and non formal education actors.

This activity is organized by the Swedish National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps (MUCF) in collaboration with the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), the City of Gothenburg and the Gothenburg Region.

This version of the training course The Power of Non-Formal Education have been slightly modified so to include a stronger cross-sectorial perspective and the possibility of bringing together international and local participants for one full days of activities and networking.

The activity will last for 4,5 days during which the participants will imerse themselves in the topic of the course. During one of these days 30 local participants will join the activity and the group will have a unique opportunity of networking, learning and working together.

The specific objectives of the course are:

  • To stimulate the participants to feel and reflect about the power of non-formal education (NFE) by experimenting different kind of non-formal educational methods.
  • To analyze the role and reception of NFE in our different countries within a common Europe.
  • To discover and debate the European strategy of NFE.
  • To explore meanings, roles and complementary of different educational dimensions (formal, non-formal, informal).
  • To reconsider daily educational and youth work practices.
  • To promote (non-formal) education as an effective tool for empowerment.

 

Additional information

The activity will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden and the participants will be accommodated in single rooms.

The participants will be expected to arrive in Gothenburg on Sunday the 28th of November and leave the training center not earlier than Friday the 3th of December, after 13:00 (programme will end at midday). The provided accommodation includes Friday 3rd of December.

Depending on the development of the current pandemic and the health and safety rules applicable, the course might be implemented online.

The organiser will follow and apply all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines decided by the Swedish government, health officials and regional government, which are valid at the time of the seminar. More detailed information about the travel guidelines will be provided to the selected participants closer to the event.

Costs

Participation fee

There is no participation fee by the hosting National Agency. If you have questions about participation fee, please contact the National Agency of Erasmus+ Programme (Youth in Action) in your home country.

Accommodation and food

The Swedish National Agency will organize and cover the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

Your sending National Agency will cover your travel costs. The way countries reimburse the travel costs varies from country to country.

If you are selected to participate in this training, the National Agency in your home country will give you information about how the reimbursement is organised in your country.

Ask your National Agency also about travel guidelines that are applicable in your country. You can also ask them about what kind of possible extra costs will be covered due to the pandemic situation (PCR tests, refundable airline tickets, etc.)

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
