Study Visit: Tandems for good practices of local youth work

Study Visit

15-17 September 2019 | Lower Austria, Austria

How can the cooperation between youth workers and their municipality be improved? To answer this question, we will look at good practice examples, identify challenges, learn about offers from the region, funding possibilities and much more.

Context

The National Agencies of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme and their partners developed a long-term cooperation project called ‘EUROPE GOES LOCAL (EGL) – Supporting Youth Work at the Municipal Level’. This study visit is one of several joint events carried out under the EGL project, aiming to support the development of local youth work mainly focusing on existing practices of youth work in Austria and in Hungary.

The aim is to improve the cooperation between youth workers and their municipality. During the Study Visit we will look at examples in Lower Austria, where this cooperation works well. We will hear about the offers from the province of Lower Austria for youth workers and municipalities and have an opportunity for exchange with the regional youth department. Furthermore, funding possibilities will be introduced. Through the exchange with Hungarian youth workers and municipalities, similar challenges will be identified and different approaches and solutions discussed. As a follow up, there is a possibility to take part in a Study Visit to Hungary in January 2020.
