OeAD, the Austrian National Agency for Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps together with SALTO European Solidarity Corps is hosting a training focused on the European Solidarity Corps Quality Label (QL) and monitoring processes.  

The training will be an opportunity to learn more about the elements in the QL process and quality standards. At the same time, the training should foster the motivation of QL experts in their personal and professional development essential for their continued work within the Quality Label and the European Solidarity Corps.The meeting is supported by the International Quality Label Working Group of the European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre 

The training process envisages three parts: 

  • Virtual training 
  • Self-organized learning and field study phase 
  • Face-to-face residential training. 

In order to keep participants motivated and engaged, a set of activities is predicted as a bridge between the three training parts.  We are looking for a motivated and qualified team consisting of one facilitator and two trainers, preferably familiar with coaching methodologies to make the training inspirational and interactive for about 30-35 participants.  

Dates 

  • 1. ONLINE - from 23.-25  June 2025,(3 x 3h sessions, time tbc) 
  • 2. Self-organised learning period - from July to September with max. 2 workshop offers of 90 minutes 
  • 3. RESIDENTIAL training in Vienna – 3 full working days(30.9.-2.10.) plus informal welcome at the arrival day (29.9.2025)  

Objectives 
The training will be addressing the following skills, attitudes and knowledge useful for Quality Label experts: 

  • how to read and analyse the Quality Label application 
  • How to read and analyse progress reports 
  • developing communication skills, both in case of on-the-spot visits or monitoring visits as well as desk assessment of Quality Label applications and progress reports 
  • How to assess and support the horizontal program priorities: inclusion & diversity, Participation in democratic life, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and aspects that might be difficult to understand (solidarity, strategic planning); 
  • review different aspects of QL assessment with focus on: hosting/supporting and partner/lead role and the standards assessed (minimum criteria) for partner/lead role; 
  • sharing of different QL expert practices and realities (assessing in different regions, different NA procedures, etc); 

Profile of participants 

The training is addressed to Quality Label experts - representatives of NAs and SALTO Resource Centres responsible for the Quality Label process and external experts from Programme and Partner countries neighboring the EU. Level of experience with QL applications and progress reporting may differ. 

Requested trainer profile

Requirements for the team (both, facilitator & trainers)

  • Good understanding of the non-formal education methodology and the European Solidarity Corps programme, especially in the field of volunteering; 
  • Familiarity with the Quality Label (previously accreditation) process; 
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to support the participants in coming to conclusions; 
  • Experience with virtual meetings and/or webinars and using of online tools (various online interactive platforms, etc.); 
  • Good command of English language in spoken and written form; 

Requested facilitator profile 

  • Experience in facilitating international training courses, seminars, meetings, etc.; 
  • Experience with group discussions and processes, providing space and dynamic methods for participants to share their practice (in residential and online-settings); 
  • Knowledge and experience regarding participatory digital methodology and digital tools. 

Requested trainers profile 

  • Experience in leading virtual and residential international training courses using non-formal education methodology; 
  • Competence with group dynamic and leading group processes, including ability to give adequate support to participants in their learning process during the training; 
  • Knowledge and skills of effective communication, giving and receiving feedback and negotiations in challenging situations; 
  • Additional knowledge and experience regarding participatory (digital) methodology and (digital) tools are an asset. 

Valuable further competence, of which at least ONE is required: 

  • Experience with delivering coaching and/or communication workshops and/or trainings; 
  • Coaching practice; 
  • Knowledge and skills in risk management, crisis situations (effective solving problems); 
  • Experience on how to read and analyse (QL) applications; 
  • Extraordinary communication skills (both verbal and nonverbal communication); 
  • Knowledge on concepts and practices connected to environmental sustainability, digital transition, strategic organisational planning, solidarity, inclusion and diversity (one required, more are an asset); 

Working conditions

The working language is English

The online part of the training will be organised on Zoom.  

Residential part of the training will take place in Vienna.  

The preparation phase includes: 

  • An initial online briefing on the background and needs after receiving the contract (1,5h); 
  • Two virtual prep-team meetings (5-9 pax) to discuss the draft programme prepared by the facilitator and trainers (one before each training leg, 1,5h each); 

Relevant only for trainers: intermediate phase between the online and residential training: 

Supporting participants in their learning process and cooperation (exact methods tbc by the team in the preparation phase - estimated time involvement 5 – 8 h/trainer depending on the process and the methodology); 

Follow-up phase includes: 

  • Evaluation of each training phase (online, intermediate,residential) within the team 
  • A brief report on the first part of the learning process (virtual) is expected with the purpose of organising support of participants in their learning process during the intermediate phase and purpose of organising the 3rd part (residential). 
  • Preparing a written report delivered within 14-days after the last part of the training. The report should include as a minimum: overview of the programmes and outcomes, incl. an evaluation of the meeting, follow-up activities (if any), selection of the most relevant photos of flip charts or conclusions and recommendations for possible follow-up activities; 

The fee will include facilitating and attending the training as well as preparation, evaluation, communication, reporting and travel time:  

  • 2 Working days Preparation, follow-up and reporting 
  • 3 working days for the residential training, 3 days for the online training, 0,5 days for the support in the practice phase  

Total fee: 8,5 working days a`340,- SALTO fee =2890,00 Euro 

Board, lodging and travel costs during the residential part and assurance of necessary online platforms are covered by the organisers. 

Team composition

Role and tasks of the team 

We expect the involvement of the facilitator and trainers in the preparation, carrying out and evaluation of the training.  

The facilitator will be responsible for facilitating the programme as a whole, ensuring the flow of the training as a whole and providing technical support during the on-line part of the training. Trainers will ensure that workshops run smoothly (in both, virtual and residential phase) and that the time between the two parts of training will be used for continuous learning process of participants. 

The team is expected to guide the participants during networking possibilities, open space settings, evening programme and other informal settings during the whole training process. 

Supporting team composition 

There is a supporting team for the training, which consists of representatives from National agencies (AT), the European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre and representatives of the Quality label working group. Continuous, close cooperation and exchange between the trainer(s), facilitator and the supporting team is an essential part of the tasks.
