Tolerance 360 - Training Course for Youth Workers

Description

“Tolerance 360” is a ten- day training course hosted by European House, Denmark that aims to equip youth workers with a reflective understanding of tolerance and skills to disseminate the acquired reflections through local activities with young people.

 

The training course will bring together 30 youth workers coming from the participating countries and will take place in Slettestrand, Denmark between the 25th November and 4th December 2019, the 25th being arrival day and the 4th being departure day.

 

The objectives of the project, aimed at training youth workers, are enlisted blow;

  • To influence youth workers to encourage young people to appreciate the meaning of culture and tolerance
  • To make youth workers reflect on the importance of cultural tolerance and its relevance among young people
  • To demonstrate to youth workers the results of intolerance of each other’s culture
  • To give youth workers the competence to react to and manage cultural intolerance
  • To train youth workers on how cultural tolerance could be fostered through non-formal education
  • To give youth workers the competence to help in the integration of immigrants

 

The Training Course will be conducted in English. The training course is non-academic, and it is based on non-formal education. The methods applied by the trainers/facilitators are mainly, but not exclusively, interactive.

Requested trainer profile

The training assistant should:

  • Have at least 2 years experience as a trainer/training assistant
  • Have experience working with Erasmus +
  • Have competence in communicating verbally in English
  • Have a broad interest and knowledge of different social themes
  • Be available and prepared to contrubute to the whole duration of the training

Working conditions

The European House and InterCollege, first and foremost considers this position to be an opportunity for an aspiring trainer to build their experience, network and portfolio. 150€ will be offered as an honorarium for support in the whole duration of the training programme (10 days incl arrival and departure). A budget will be provided for travel costs. Food and accommodation will be provided for the duration of the activity.

The training assistant, will among others, have responsibility for the following deliveries:

  • Get to know each other activities and name games
  • Teambuilding activities
  • De-briefs and learning reflections
  • Non-formal method delivery
  • Informal evening activities

 

Team composition

The final composition of the team is still to be confirmed.

The training assistant will work alongside a coordinator, trainer and or facilitator, and guest speakers.
