ETS - Trainer Skills Workshop on well-being in training practices

Description

Trainer Skills Workshops (TSWs) take place twice a year as part of a strategic long-term cooperation between NAs and SALTO T&C RC coordinating European training offers for trainers. It supports ‘advanced trainers’ to exploring a certain area of trainer’s work and related competences of the ETS Competence Model for Trainers. In other words, TSWs are for trainers having a long-term experience with training in the field of youth. The course is for trainers who wish to develop their competence with regard to particular areas/skills and transfer the learning to their youth work practice.

This TSW intends to expand trainers’ practice exploration with regard to how they deal with well-being in training. It also aims to equip them with the necessary skills to plan and approach 'well-being' as part of the learning process. The course can be linked to the Long Term Activity on "Mental Health in Youth Work", coordinated by NA Finland.

The dimensions that will be tackled (to be further developed) are:

• Understanding what well-being means in a training context and & developing training/educational activities from a well-being perspective
• Well-being of teams and well-being of groups: a holistic approach?
• Supporting/favouring learning, reflection and self-awareness through well-being technics and practices

• Dates: 10-13.04.2023 (with arrivals on 10.04 afternoon/evening and departures on 13.04 after lunch).
• Venue: Brussels, Belgium, Maison ND du Chant d’Oiseau (http://www.chant-oiseau.be/language/en/)
• Target group of the course: trainers, trainers of youth workers
• Number of participants in the course: max. 24

Requested trainer profile

We are looking for two trainers who:

• are familiar with the European Training Strategy, the ETS Competence Model for Trainers Working Internationally and with short targeted courses for trainers
• have experience with short targeted courses
• have expertise into how to approach notions and methodologies supporting well-being in training contexts and practices
• have a good knowledge of and experience with the ETS Competence Model for Trainers Working at the International Level
• are able to work and communicate in English
• make use of the learning environment and link it to the topic

The tasks of the trainers include the following:

• Attend the preparatory meeting (dates to be decided with the whole team afterwards, but somewhere in November 2022)
• Programme design & implementation
• Evaluation of the training
• Compilation of the final report/documentation

Working conditions

• Trainers fee: 320€ per day. For this course, we count 7 working days, including preparation, implementation and reporting.
• Costs for board and lodging as well as travel costs to the meetings will be covered by the organisers.

Team composition

The team will be composed of:

• the two trainers – one of the two might be coming from the JINT pool of trainers
• a representative of the host NA (Sofie Van Zeebroeck),
• a representative of SALTO T&C RC (Blanka Thees or Gisele Evrard Markovic),
• possible NA colleagues interested to join the process
