Inclusion in European Solidarity Corps

A 2.5 day meeting for the NA officers on inclusion possibilities of the European Solidarity Corps programme and its further development and improvement. From 24 to 27 March 2019, Riga, Latvia.

After having the new programme, European Solidarity Corps running for some time and having the 2nd deadline behind us (in the time of the meeting), we would like to look at the inclusion possibilities of the programme and see how those could be further developed and improved.

This meeting will bring inclusion & diversity officers and other colleagues working on ESC together to critically reflect on the programme, its accessibility, existing and missing features, advantages and disadvantages of its tools, user friendliness, barriers and issues that young people with fewer opportunities or organisations working with them are faced with when using it.

The meeting should result in recommendations which will be shared with the the European Commission and Inclusion and Diversity Strategy Steering Group.

  • To discuss and reflect on inclusion and solidarity in the ESC
  • To share experiences with managing the ESC and related inclusion issues
  • To develop recommendations for making ESC more inclusive and accessible for all young people
  • To identify the role of ID officer and of the NAs in making ESC more inclusive
  • To get to know ESC from beneficiaries perspective
