Key Actions in the field of Youth

Below you can find information about the key actions of the Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth open for Eastern Partnership countries and Russian Federation.

For more information and details please check the Erasmus+ Programme Guide

Key Action 1: Mobility projects in the field of education, training and youth

Main activities:

1) Youth Mobility projects (young people and youth workers):

  • Youth Exchanges;
  • European Voluntary Service;
  • Structured courses: seminars, training courses, contact-making events, study visits abroad;
  • Job shadowing or observation period in a youth organisation abroad (at youth organisations, education and training institutions, companies, etc.).

2) Mobility projects submitted by national/regional public bodies and by organisations active in Corporate Social Responsibility.

3) Large Scale European Voluntary Service Events.

Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practices

Strategic Partnerships offer the opportunity to organisations active in the fields of education, training and youth, as well as enterprises, public authorities, civil society organisations active in different socio-economic sectors to cooperate in order to implement innovative practices leading to high quality teaching, training, learning and youth work, institutional modernisation and societal innovation.

Strategic Partnerships are open to any type of organisation active in any field of education, training and youth or other socio-economic sectors as well as to organisations carrying out activities that are transversal to different fields (e.g. local and regional authorities, recognition and validation centres, chambers of commerce, trade organisations, guidance centres, cultural organisations).

As a general rule, Strategic Partnerships target the cooperation between organisations established in Programme Countries. However, organisations from Partner Countries can be involved in a Strategic Partnership, as partners (not as applicants), if their participation brings an essential added value to the project.

Key Action 3 : Support for policy reform

Main activities:

  • Support to the Open Method of Coordination (peer learning, evidence-gathering);
  • Support to Structured Dialogue in the field of youth (meetings between young people and decision-makers; support to SD National Working Groups);
  • Support to European Youth Forum and civil society partnerships with European Youth NGOs;
  • Implementation of Union transparency and recognition tools: Youthpass;
  • Prospective Initiatives (Policy experimentation and Forward-looking projects in the youth field);
  • European Youth Week.

These Actions are all organised in a framework based on three Key Actions. Several Actions are instruments to support the objectives in both the education and training and in the youth fields. The Erasmus+ Programme aims to promote synergies, cooperation and cross-fertilisation between the different fields.
