Youthpass Newsletter November 2018

Dear readers,

There are changes in the landscape of SALTO Resource Centres. From 1st of January 2018, the newly established SALTO Participation and Information (SALTO PI) will start working in Estonia. And, they are hiring two people!

Furthermore, it is time to think seriously about youth work. The partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission published the next edition in the series of Youth Knowledge Books: “Thinking seriously about youth work - and how to prepare people to do it”.

Within the bulletin board, we send you the Letter on Youthpass for EVS volunteers. Please feel free to forward it to all the current EVS volunteers! We also remind you of the call for participants for TC Tuning In: to Learning and Youthpass.

Work in SALTO Participation and Information

  • If you are a firm believer in youth participation and empowerment, and in encouraging young people to take charge of their lives;
  • If you wish to support the youth to make informed decisions and take action in order to improve their access to resources, and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes;

... then you might be interested to apply for a job at the newly established SALTO PI! The bonus to the exciting and meaningful job includes the possibility to work in beautiful Estonia. Please have a look here for a flyer and for further information about the call. The deadline to apply is November 15.

SALTO Training and Cooperation welcomes the new resource centre in the SALTO network and wishes them best of luck in the exciting phase of establishing their work.

Thinking seriously about youth work. And how to prepare people to do it

Across Europe, youth work takes place in enormously different circumstances. The authors of the 37 articles in "Thinking seriously about youth work. And how to prepare people to do it" analyse theories and concepts of youth work, and provide insight from various perspectives and geographical and professional backgrounds. They thus hope to contribute to finding the common ground for – and thereby assure the quality of – youth work in general.
