'The Art of Conflict Transformation'
The training "The Art of Conflict Transformation" will learn youth workers what conflict is, how to deal with it, and how to forward this information to socially excluded youth.
This training will teach you what conflict is, how to deal with it, and how to forward this information to socially excluded youth. We are looking for 21 energetic youth workers from different backgrounds to actively participate in the training. Through experience-sharing with other participants and through exploration of personal, cultural and political similarities and differences you will learn about conflict and the different approaches to it. Methods involved in the training are simulations, role playing, theatre, and group discussion. The training has a long term objective and aims to offer tools and methods that can be used to transform conflict in your daily life. The tools and methods will be used by the participating youth workers/activists to develop an experiential workshop during the training week? The follow up workshops will be aimed at youth from minority and/or economically marginalized groups. Since this group is a vulnerable part of society, the workshop should offer them the opportunity to participate in society and the skill to deal with confrontations and escalating conflict. The training is organized by non-governmental (youth) organizations from Western Europe and the Western Balkans. These regions experience different levels and types of conflict and deal with conflict in different ways, this will be used in the training to explore cultural diversity and its relation to conflict. Conflict is natural and comes with life!
