Partnership-building Activity

Contact Making Seminar for host, sending and coordinationg organisations with focus on inclusion of physically disabled young people in European Voluntary projects (action 2 of the Youth in Action Programme)
Global aim To increase the number of physically disabled young people in European Voluntary Service projects within the Youth in Action Programme. Objectives: At the end of the contact making seminar the participants: Will understand that European Voluntary Service projects provide possibilities for physically disabled young people to contribute actively in society Have further discussed their views and approaches regarding the objectives of a European Voluntary Service project. Have been introduced to the realities of each other on personal, professional and cultural level including their organisations’ expectations to future international cooperation. Have knowledge on the different realities in the participating countries regarding possibilities for disabled people in general Have had the opportunity to exchange experiences and good practises. Have had time and resources to initiate and define partnerships and specific project ideas. Methodology There will be different methodologies used during the Contact Making Seminar, such as workshops, presentations, exchange of experiences as well as informal space. The workshops will guide the participants through reflection on their own best practices and needs in relation to international work, towards creating shared visions for international work, and ending up in developing concrete pro-ject ideas in partnerships. Working language English Participating countries Participants will come from the following countries: Belgium-Flanders, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom. Profile of participants: The selected participants should: Represent a sending, host and/or coordinating organisation of European Voluntary Projects. Have direct contact with the target group. Be able to make decisions on future partnerships or at least have a mandate to enter partner agreements during the contact making seminar. Be at least 18 years of age. Be able to communicate in English.
